Apple WWDC 2026: Date, iOS 27 & New AI Features Revealed
Apple has announced its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will return June 8-12, 2026, with a keynote address scheduled for Apple Park in Cupertino, California, and streamed online globally. The company highlighted upcoming advancements in its software platforms and developer tools, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence.
“WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it’s a chance for our incredible global developer community to reach together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation, and collaboration,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We can’t wait to see many of you online and in person for what is sure to be one of our best WWDC events yet.”
The conference is expected to showcase iOS 27, alongside updates to iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS. According to reports, iOS 27 will be a central focus, with significant improvements anticipated in artificial intelligence capabilities, including a substantial overhaul of the Siri virtual assistant. The update is similarly expected to prioritize performance enhancements and stability improvements, alongside broader AI integration across core Apple applications.
Apple’s push into AI comes as the company reportedly seeks to catch up with competitors in the generative AI space. Recent reports indicate Apple signed a deal with Google to utilize the Gemini AI model to power features on its platform. The revamped Siri, previously delayed in its development, is expected to demonstrate improved contextual awareness and on-screen understanding. Apple’s Foundation Model framework, introduced last year, which allows AI models to function offline, may also see advancements unveiled during WWDC26.
WWDC provides a platform for Apple to engage directly with its developer community, offering technical sessions, workshops, and announcements of new tools and APIs for app development. Developers and students will have the opportunity to attend an in-person event at Apple Park on June 8, with invitations distributed through a lottery system to current Apple Developer Program members, alumni of the Apple Entrepreneur Camp, previous Swift Student Challenge winners, and members of the Apple Developer Enterprise Program. Submissions for the in-person event are open until March 30, 2026.
The keynote and online sessions will be accessible through the Apple Developer app, the Apple website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. In China, the conference will also be streamed on the Apple Developer Bilibili channel. Apple plans to release further details about WWDC26 through its developer resources in the coming months.
