Apple Dominates Smartphone Sales, Securing all Top Three Spots in Q2 2025
Apple has solidified its position as the global smartphone leader, claiming the top three best-selling models in the second quarter of 2025, according to the latest report from Counterpoint Research. This confirms strong consumer demand for its recently launched lineup.
The standard iPhone 16 model led the pack, surpassing the Pro and Pro Max versions, demonstrating the importance of price-performance balance. This represents a significant jump from its 24th-place ranking in Q3 2024, climbing to 3rd in the final months of that year before taking the lead in 2025.
Samsung remains a key competitor, with the Galaxy A16 5G securing fourth place, driven by its competitive pricing and 5G capabilities. The Galaxy A06 4G followed closely in fifth. Apple further strengthened its presence with the iPhone 16E, ranking sixth after a surge in sales in the US and Japan, moving up from 22nd place in a single quarter. Samsung holds the seventh and eighth positions with the Galaxy A16 4G and the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra, boosted by marketing focused on its GENAI features.
Xiaomi maintains a foothold with the Redmi 4C 4G at ninth, benefiting from strong demand in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. The iPhone 15 rounds out the top ten, having previously held the global lead for several quarters.
