Anthony Kim‌ Shows Signs of Form at Hong Kong Open, Future on LIV Golf Uncertain

Hong ⁢Kong – Anthony Kim is demonstrating improved play at the Hong Kong Open, but his long-term future within ⁣LIV Golf remains a significant question mark ⁣as he ‌battles to regain his‍ competitive edge‍ after ‌a‍ 12-year hiatus. Kim is among the LIV golf players competing⁤ for ⁢a coveted spot in the 2026 Masters and‍ open‍ Championship.

while currently⁤ 46th in ⁢the tournament after a Saturday 67, Kim’s recent rounds of 68 and 67 marked ⁣his best 36-hole score since returning to professional golf. This performance‌ comes after missing the cut at the International Series philippines and‌ finishing T44 at the Jakarta International Championship⁣ earlier this month. the Hong Kong Open presents a crucial prospect for⁢ Kim to build⁤ momentum and solidify ⁢his position within the evolving landscape of LIV ‌golf.

“It’s the best ⁢I’ve hit the ball since coming back,” Kim‍ told bunkered.co. “I just haven’t got the ball in⁤ the hole. I definitely finally see‍ the work I’m doing.⁢ I’m excited.”

Kim openly discussed the challenges of his return to the sport last year, acknowledging the difficulty of recapturing his previous form. “I’m ‌still working to regain the ‍focus I⁢ need ⁢to hit good shots and compete at the highest level,” he told GOLF.com’s Art Stricklin. “I need to focus on every shot, and there have⁤ been five to six⁢ shots a round ⁢I haven’t been focused on, ⁢which has led to some bad⁢ holes.”

Despite the ‍ongoing work, Kim has found a renewed ‌enjoyment in the game. “Even when I was ‌playing well, I don’t think I ⁣enjoyed golf,” Kim said at ⁣LIV miami last ⁢year. “right now, ‍I’m actually enjoying practicing, which is ⁣something that has never ⁢happened before.”

Nearly two years after ⁣his return, Kim believes his‌ game is progressing, though where that progress will continue – on⁣ LIV ⁢Golf or elsewhere ⁣- remains⁤ to be seen.
