A recent update allows players to invite characters like Link, Pearl, and Cece to their islands, offering a fresh wave of customization options for dedicated fans. The availability of these villagers hinges on scanning specific amiibo at the Nook Stop terminal, and successfully inviting them requires a separate, multi-step process.
These crossover villagers add a new layer of collectibility and personalization to Animal Crossing: new Horizons. Scanning the Big Man amiibo presents players with a choice: invite Viché or Cece. Players must have upgraded the Resident Services tent to the Town Hall and constructed the Campground to utilize amiibo for villager invites. The process is as follows:
- Visit Resident Services and interact with the Nook Stop Terminal.
- Select ‘Invite amiibo Camper‘.
- Tap the desired amiibo figure on the right control stick or the center of the Pro Controller.
- if the amiibo is recognized, an invite will be sent to the corresponding crossover villager.
