Angry Jesus Spits on David Amess Statue Over Iraq War Vote

October 22, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

A left-wing internet influencer known as Angry Jesus recorded a video spitting on the memorial statue of murdered Conservative Member of Parliament David Amess in Essex, drawing public criticism and police inquiries, as Daily Mail reported. The incident occurred just days after the fifth anniversary of the lawmaker’s assassination by an Islamic State sympathizer.

Influencer Desecrates David Amess Memorial over Iraq War Vote

In the footage published to social media platforms, the influencer stands before the memorial and directs a vulgar gesture toward the stone likeness. “People were just bowing down to that ba*****d. He voted for the Iraq war. Shame,” the content creator said in the video, defending the act of desecration.

David Amess served as a Conservative MP in the British parliament from 1983 until his death in 2021. In 2003, he voted in favor of deploying the armed forces of the United Kingdom into the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq alongside military contingents from Australia and Poland.

This is a sickening and disgusting act committed by a vile individual. Sir David was respectful, kind and a powerful advocate for free speech and expression. He always debated political differences with dignity. To disrespect his life and legacy in this way is dreadful. https://t.co/mr8tPkAUBI

Defending his actions against online critics, the influencer asked in a subsequent post: “Why do we have a statue of a man who bears partial responsibility for the murder of 1 million people? That’s not a good example for future generations.”

Priti Patel Condemns Act as Police Receive Investigation Requests

Priti Patel, a Conservative Member of Parliament and former Home Secretary, used the social media platform X to condemn the influencer’s behavior. “David was a respectful, kind and staunch champion of free speech and expression,” Patel wrote. “He always debated political differences with dignity. To so desecrate his life and legacy is awful.”
