Former St. Louis News Anchor Charged with Mother’s Murder in Kansas
Wichita, Kansas – Former St. Louis television news anchor Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 47, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother, 80-year-old anita Avers. The incident occurred Friday morning in Wichita, Kansas, where police responded to a call from Mock herself.
According to the Wichita Police Department, officers arrived at the residence at 7:50 a.m. and found Mock outside the home with cuts on her hands. Inside, they discovered Avers in her bed suffering from multiple stab wounds. Avers was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Mock remains in the Sedgwick County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
Authorities say Mock called 911 and claimed she “stabbed her mother to save herself.” The details surrounding the alleged circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation.
