Washington Out of Bailout Cash as AI Tech Giants Face Market Reality

Big tech companies will find no government rescue if an artificial intelligence bubble bursts, entrepreneur Angelo Moratti stated in an interview published by L’Economia on November 7, 2026, pointing to a severe lack of fiscal space in the United States federal budget.

Moratti spoke following the United States midterm elections, which saw a decisive victory for the Democratic Party. He said two photographs explain the election outcome better than a thousand analyses.

Midterms Shatter the Myth of Tech Infallibility

The outcome of the midterm elections demonstrated that American technology titans are no longer viewed as myths, L’Economia reported. Despite tech leaders spending more than six hundred million dollars to support Republican candidates, the party lost ground across the country, even in Texas.

Moratti noted that the populist wave that found a leader in Donald Trump was initially rooted in two movements born in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, when the state bailed out the system with trillions of dollars in public resources.

Four Tech Giants Support Thirty Percent of Investments

Financial markets have mirrored this political volatility, with major indexes revealing stark internal divisions. As L’Economia noted, thirty percent of S&P 500 investments is supported by just four companies: Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Meanwhile, the broader real economy supporting employment has remained flat while a select group of firms captures massive gains from the artificial intelligence boom.

Equity valuations for the major technology groups have faced mounting downward pressure amid shifting political realities. Alphabet shares dropped after breaking key support near three hundred fifteen dollars, slipping toward medium-term support ranges. Amazon drifted below six hundred dollars per share for the first time since early September. Nvidia experienced a sharp loss of momentum, sliding from early October highs above two hundred forty-three dollars down below one hundred eighty-five dollars, according to Milano Finanza.

Tesla also breached the psychological support threshold of three hundred fifty dollars, pointing toward further downside near three hundred dollars. Milano Finanza observed that Tesla’s weakness was already visible before the elections, which merely triggered a ready fuse.

Gridlock on Earth and Solar Ambitions in Orbit

Infrastructure constraints have compounded these financial pressures, particularly the massive energy demands of modern computing facilities. Newly elected Democratic governor Gina Hinojosa supported a temporary suspension of new data center construction until stronger protections are adopted for electricity, water and local communities, according to Benzinga Italia.

In response to these growing terrestrial hurdles, SpaceX executives explored moving AI compute infrastructure into Earth orbit to harness near-continuous solar power and reduce dependence on terrestrial power grids, land and water. The Government Accountability Office warned that cooling powerful computing equipment in space would require solutions still untested at scale.

Strained Public Finances Leave Titans on Their Own

Moratti also expected stricter rules, for example on data centers. If a sharp correction materializes, public finances are too strained by high and costly national debt to fund a bailout comparable to the 2008 bank interventions, leaving the largest technology conglomerates to face market forces on their own.
