Andy Cohen Mourns Mary Cosby’s Son Robert Jr. After Tragic Death

Andy Cohen, host of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, publicly mourned the death of Robert Cosby Jr., son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby, during Thursday evening’s broadcast.

“Before we go, I seek to send all my love and heartfelt condolences to Mary Cosby and her family after news broke yesterday about the tragic passing of Mary’s son Robert Jr.,” Cohen said, according to reports. “This devastatingly sad news is every parent’s worst nightmare. My heart breaks for Mary. I will always appreciate getting a small window into the unconditional love between Mary and Robert Jr.”

Cohen also praised Cosby’s parenting, acknowledging the challenges she faced. “Mary, you did such a good job,” he said, referencing Robert Jr.’s struggles with mental health, and addiction. He added, “I recognize their bravery and their vulnerability in sharing their story has helped and will continue to help countless people who are struggling. Rest in peace, Robert Jr., and thanks.”

Robert Cosby Jr. Died on Monday, February 23, at the age of 23, following a reported overdose, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department. Officers responded to a call regarding a medical emergency and found Robert Jr. Unresponsive. Paramedics administered Narcan at the scene before pronouncing him dead, according to TMZ.

The Cosby family released a statement on Friday confirming Robert Jr.’s death. “Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace,” the statement read. “We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”

Bravo also issued a statement to People magazine, expressing its condolences. “We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Mary’s beloved son, Robert Jr.,” the statement said. “Mary is a cherished member of our family, and our thoughts, love, and deepest condolences are with her and her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Robert Cosby Jr.’s recent struggles were documented on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. He had recently been released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail after serving time for charges including felony property damage, violation of a pretrial protective order, and criminal trespass, according to reports. The charges stemmed from incidents involving his estranged wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff.
