Andy Borregales could surpass Vinatieri’s record, according to Nacho García

Vinatieri’s All-Time Scoring Record on Radar

“I didn’t know that. Well, that’s the plan,” New England Patriots Andy Borregales said after learning that maintaining his current scoring pace across 23 seasons could allow him to surpass Adam Vinatieri’s all-time NFL scoring record, according to Nacho García.

The projection was presented to Borregales by Nacho García following the Patriots’ 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. While reaching the milestone requires an extensive career, the Venezuelan acknowledged the target while maintaining his primary focus on weekly execution.

That precision was evident in the win against Las Vegas. Borregales converted all six of his extra-point attempts and his lone field goal, totaling nine points to support the Patriots’ 45-point offensive output.

Borregales Reflects on Childhood Idols and New England Life

The comparison holds notable personal weight for Borregales, who grew up watching YouTube highlights of Vinatieri’s high-pressure kicks in snow-laden Super Bowls. Years later, speaking with Vinatieri and meeting his son turned into a cherished experience for the young player as he begins his own professional tenure in New England.

Reflecting on his upbringing in Doral, Florida—a community with a prominent Venezuelan, Colombian, and Cuban population—he pointed out the contrast between Miami’s climate and life in the Northeast, alongside the expanding footprint of Latino players across the league.

Mental Routine and Mechanics Under Pressure

To sustain his performance on the field, Borregales relies on a structured mental routine. Before every kick, he evaluates the wind direction and concentrates strictly on mechanics to prevent external distractions from interfering with his execution.

Balancing Fatherhood and Professional Ambitions

Outside of football, Borregales is preparing for fatherhood, noting that his current nerves regarding the baby’s arrival will likely peak when the child is born.

With an ongoing learning curve in his first professional chapter, a growing family, and a role with the Patriots, Borregales continues to handle his career one attempt at a time.
