London – Prince Andrew has been formally removed from all royal duties, a decision reportedly solidified after increased pressure on King Charles III, spurred by public heckling and sustained negative press coverage. the move comes with the full support of the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, who are actively working to distance the monarchy from further reputational damage linked to the Duke of York.
The decision marks a important escalation in the ongoing fallout from Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to royal biographer Tom lownie,Charles’ resolve was strengthened by William’s influence and a recent incident where the King was publicly heckled. “From what I know of him and his father, William would have played quite an active role in stiffening charles’ resolve,” Lownie revealed. “but I think particularly after Charles was heckled and the continuing press coverage – which was a distraction from all the other things he wanted to do, like pray at the vatican – he’s realised just how serious this is.”
Kate is understood to have “fully supported” Charles’ decision, alongside her husband, as Lownie stated, “I think they are distancing themselves from Andrew quite rightly.They don’t want further reputational damage to the monarchy from being linked to him.”
