Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson No Longer Welcome at Exclusive Annabel’s Nightclub
Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, have been removed from the membership roll of Annabel’s, one of London’s moast exclusive private members’ clubs. The decision extends to four other venues owned by the Birley Group: Mark’s Club, Harry’s Bar, George, and Bath & Racquets.
The move, reportedly made without the knowledge of Princess Diana and Fergie, comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Prince Andrew’s conduct and follows a previous incident where the pair allegedly attempted to gatecrash a stag do at Annabel’s disguised as police strippergrams. The Birley Group’s decision reflects a broader trend of distancing from the Duke of York following allegations of sexual assault and his subsequent fall from royal duties.
This action adds to a series of recent developments impacting Prince Andrew’s public life. The City of London Corporation is reportedly working to revoke his Freedom of the City of London, an honor dating back centuries that allows recipients the right to walk across Tower Bridge and carry a ceremonial sword. The Freedom of the City is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon notable figures, and its removal would represent a further symbolic severing of ties with the former royal.
