ITB Alumnus Creates Viral Profile Photo Generator Supporting Social Movement
Jakarta, Indonesia – Anang Marjono, a Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) alumnus, has developed a website, brave-pink-hero-green.ovable.app, that allows users to easily apply duotone pink and green filters to their profile pictures – a visual signal of solidarity gaining traction on social media. The generator emerged as a response to recent demonstrations and aims to facilitate participation in social and political messaging.
Marjono, who shares updates on his work via Instagram (@marjono_), explained he created the platform to support a citizen-led movement. The color choices are symbolic: “Brave Pink” represents courage, inspired by images of Ibu Ana, a veiled woman seen confronting authorities during protests, while ”Hero Green” honors Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who died during demonstrations, and represents the solidarity of drivers.
The website includes a feature designed to be accessible to individuals with partial color blindness, responding to user feedback and demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity. Marjono’s background in Civil Engineering and the Environment from ITB provides a technical foundation for his digital creativity. He is encouraging widespread use of the generator to amplify collective awareness and support for social change.
