Officers booked Noah Gonzalez, 29, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after Monday’s shooting near Grand Teton Drive and Tee Pee Lane. In an arrest report, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they found Gonzalez inside his car, a silver Hyundai. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to UMC for treatment. Investigators learned he was in an earlier road rage incident with a woman driving a white BMW near Grand Teton and Grand Canyon Drive. The woman said she was driving and mistakenly cut off the Hyundai, leading to an argument between the two drivers. The driver of the Hyundai allegedly took out a gun and said, “I will kill you,” the woman told police. She said she drove home and saw the Hyundai had followed her. As she pulled into the driveway, her boyfriend immediately began firing a gun at the Hyundai. The boyfriend then took the keys to her BMW and drove off. Police later found the boyfriend and detained him. He told officers that he got a call from his girlfriend saying the driver of the Hyundai pointed a gun at her, and they spoke via Facetime for the duration of the drive. When he saw the Hyundai drive up, Smith said he feared for their lives and fired his gun several times. A detective met with Gonzalez at the hospital, and he admitted to following the woman after their argument. “Gonzalez denied shooting at the male, but stated he did have a firearm inside of his vehicle,” police wrote. Authorities determined there was probable cause to arrest Gonzalez for assault, writing that the boyfriend “was reasonable in believing that Gonzalez would try to harm or kill” the couple.
