Las Vegas Man Arrested After Road Rage Incident Escalates to Shooting
LAS VEGAS - A 29-year-old man, identified as Noah Gonzalez, was arrested monday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a shooting near Grand Teton Drive and Tee Pee Lane in Las Vegas. The incident stemmed from a road rage encounter that escalated when Gonzalez allegedly followed a woman home and was subsequently shot by her boyfriend.
According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan police Department arrest report, the initial altercation occurred near Grand Teton and Grand Canyon Drive when the woman, driving a white BMW,inadvertently cut off Gonzalez’s silver Hyundai. An argument ensued, during which Gonzalez allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened the woman, stating, “I will kill you.” Fearing for her safety, the woman drove home, only to discover Gonzalez had followed her. As she entered her driveway, her boyfriend began firing at the Hyundai.
Police responding to the scene found gonzalez inside his vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UMC for treatment. Investigators later located and detained the boyfriend, who stated he received a call from his girlfriend detailing the threat made by Gonzalez and maintained contact with her via facetime during the drive home. Upon seeing the Hyundai arrive at the residence, he told police he feared for both their lives and fired his weapon several times.
Gonzalez admitted to following the woman after their initial argument, though he denied shooting at the boyfriend. He did confirm having a firearm inside his vehicle. Authorities determined the boyfriend’s actions were justified, stating he “was reasonable in believing that Gonzalez would try to harm or kill” the couple. Gonzalez remains in custody, and the examination is ongoing.
