AMD Downplays AI⁤ Hype, ⁤Prioritizes the ‘Perfect PC’ at IFA Berlin

Berlin,‍ Germany – AMD executives at⁣ IFA Berlin asserted that⁤ current ⁤excitement surrounding artificial intelligence is “underhyped,” emphasizing the company’s continued ⁤focus on delivering⁢ a⁢ superior PC experience‌ as its primary goal. Despite‌ acknowledging the growing importance of AI,AMD ⁤maintains it is committed to providing chips to partners – even competitors like Nvidia,whose GeForce‌ Now infrastructure utilizes AMD’s Threadripper CPUs.

The company’s stance signals a pragmatic approach to the rapidly evolving tech landscape. ‌while‌ acknowledging AI’s potential, AMD believes a strong foundation in traditional PC⁢ performance remains paramount. This strategy comes ​as the ​company navigates a challenging market share position,⁤ with ‌recent data from Jon Peddie Research indicating AMD held just 6% of the discrete⁣ GPU market in Q2 2025. AMD​ declined ⁣to comment​ on the JPR figures, instead ‌referencing​ data from Mercury⁢ research, and stating radeon demand remains strong despite production catching up after RDNA 4.

AMD also confirmed the continued growth of FidelityFX⁤ Super Resolution “Redstone,” slated for release in ⁤the second half ⁤of this year, promising⁣ further performance improvements‌ for gamers.
