‘Money Heist’ Star Álvaro Morte Used a Prosthetic Nose to Go Incognito in Public
MADRID – Actor Álvaro Morte, best known for his role as “The Professor” in the hit Netflix series Money Heist, revealed a clever tactic for escaping public recognition: utilizing a prosthetic nose while filming his latest project, Anatomy of an Instant. Morte shared the story during an appearance on the spanish television program El Hormiguero.
Morte explained the highly realistic prosthetic, used for a role requiring disguise, allowed him to run errands - even grocery shopping – near his home without being detected. “I managed to be anonymous,” he confessed.”We were filming relatively close to my house and sometimes, instead of waiting on set, I would do things in between. I went to the supermarket with a fake nose. It was curious to go completely unnoticed, a situation that I had not experienced in a long time.”
The actor, also a father of twins with stylist Blanca Clemente, noted the conversion was so seamless he frequently enough forgot he was wearing the prosthetic. Anatomy of an Instant, directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, recounts the events leading up to the attempted coup d’état in Spain on February 23, 1981 (23F). Morte stars alongside Alberto Rodríguez, Eduard Fernández, and Manolo solo.
Despite occasionally being overwhelmed by fan attention, Morte expressed gratitude for the consistent respect and affection he receives from the public, acknowledging their appreciation for his work. He recently concluded work on Two Tombs, which reached number one on Netflix, and has received accolades including an Ondas Award, a Platinum Award, and a Silver Fotogramas.
