Real Madrid has reportedly finalized a deal for left-back Alvaro Carreras, a move that could set a new benchmark for transfer fees for the position in Spain’s top flight.

Carreras, who has a contract with Real Madrid extending until June 30, 2031, is understood to have been acquired for a fee of 50 million euros. this potential transfer positions him as the most expensive left-back acquisition in La Liga history, surpassing the previous record held by Ferland Mendy’s move to Real Madrid from Lyon in the summer of 2019.

A product of Real Madrid’s youth system, Carreras honed his skills within the club’s academy between 2017 and 2020, progressing through the Cubs and Al-Shabab categories. He later transferred to Manchester United, where he was recognized as the best under-23 player for the 2021-2022 season.
