Alpine Skiing News: Jenifera German’s Olympic Season Progress

Shiffrin Dominates, While Latvian Bobsled & Skeleton Teams Compete in Season Openers

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, ITALY & LEVI, FINLAND/GURGL, AUSTRIA – Mikaela Shiffrin continued her winning streak, securing victories in both the Levi and Gurgla slalom races. The next slalom stage of the Alpine Ski World cup is scheduled for this weekend in the USA.

Elsewhere, the bobsled and skeleton season launched on the Olympic track in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, with Latvian athletes posting a range of results. In bobsled, Jēkabs Kalendas and Arni Bebrišu finished 13th, while Renārs Grantiņš and Edgars Ungurus placed 23rd. The Latvian four-man teams secured 17th and 20th positions, respectively. In skeleton, Darta Neiman was 22nd and Marta Andžana 27th.Debutant Emil Indriksson achieved 23rd in the men’s competition, with Dāvis Valdovskis finishing 31st. Neuman and Indriksson combined for an eighth-place finish in the mixed team event. The teams will next compete at the Eagles track in Austria this week.
