Alice Cooper to Bring Horror Rock Spectacle to Pilsen Next Year
Pilsen, Czech Republic – Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Alice Cooper will return to Pilsen next year, bringing his signature blend of horror, cabaret, and heavy metal to local audiences. This performance marks his second time headlining in Pilsen, following a 2014 appearance as the main star of Metalfest.
The seventy-seven-year-old Detroit native, who adopted the Alice Cooper persona in 1975, recently released The Revenge of alice Cooper, a new studio album featuring the original members of his group after 51 years: guitarist and pianist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith. The late guitarist Glen Buxton, a former member, passed away in 1997. Cooper first performed for Czech audiences in Prague in the late 1990s, with subsequent shows in brno and pardubice, most recently in Pardubice last year.
Known for his theatrical stage shows featuring elements like simulated guillotines, snakes, and spiders, Cooper gained notoriety in the 1970s for performances that “caused a stir,” as Mojo magazine noted when reviewing The Revenge of Alice Cooper. Beyond the spectacle, Cooper has released over two dozen studio albums throughout his solo career.during his 2014 Pilsen appearance, Cooper also took time to participate in a unique event, baptizing a rare Indian rhino at the Pilsen Zoo.
