Mayor Landaluce Greets New Officers and Honors Daily Service
Mayor José Ignacio Landaluce publicly congratulated all National Police officers celebrating their patron feast day. The mayor welcomed newly arrived officers to the city during the official observance.
"Today must be a day that, in addition to being festive for these public servants, also allows us to value the work that national police officers carry out daily, especially in our city, as a fundamental pillar for safeguarding our rights and freedoms," Landaluce stated.
The municipality highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the National Police and the Local Police. The municipal government emphasized that effective police coordination remains essential for pushing crime rates down below the national average in Algeciras.
Push for Campo de Gibraltar Special Singularity Status
City leadership used the patron saint commemorations to reiterate demands for the surrounding region. Landaluce pledged that the municipal government will remain an ally to the National Police force.
The mayoral administration committed to continuing its advocacy for increased staffing levels and better material resources for the Algeciras Comisaría. The local government also intends to press for the Campo de Gibraltar to receive formal classification as a Zone of Special Singularity (Zona de Especial Singularidad).
This designation aims to ensure that those who dedicate their lives to protecting others see their efforts rewarded.
