The victory marks a continuation of Hämmerle’s dominance in the event, following his initial gold medal win at the Beijing Olympics. He achieved the win in the snowboardcross final, adding to Austria’s medal count at the games. Jakob Dusek similarly contributed to the Austrian success, earning a bronze medal in the same event.
The Olympic win for Hämmerle comes as the games continue in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
