While Fernández initially displayed his usual charisma and vocal strength, performing hits that have cemented his status in regional Mexican music, later recordings showed him appearing unsteady and, according to one video from @iamarturocolin, appearing to fight nausea.
Alejandro Fernández Jr. addressed the concerns, explaining that his father suffers from severe acid reflux. He noted this condition can be aggravated by beverages he typically enjoys during concerts,like cognac or ginger tea. However, he emphasized he saw nothing alarming in his father’s performance and believes the online reaction has been overblown.
Fernández Jr. maintained that his father appeared well throughout the Querétaro show. Despite his son’s explanation, the controversy persists, with some social media users referencing past instances of similar concerns regarding the singer’s on-stage behavior.
As of now, Alejandro Fernández has not publicly commented on the situation and is currently focused on promoting his upcoming concert in Texas.
