Carlos Alcaraz Claims World No. 1 Ranking Following US open Victory
NEW YORK – September 7,2025 – Carlos Alcaraz has ascended to the top of the ATP rankings,displacing Jannik Sinner after winning the US Open title today. Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, and 6-4 in a compelling two-hour match to secure his sixth Grand Slam title.
the shift at the summit marks the end of sinner’s 65-week reign as world number one. Alcaraz’s victory completes a sweep of the year’s four major tournaments between himself and Sinner – two titles each – and solidifies his position as a dominant force in men’s tennis. This is the second consecutive year the pair have split the Grand Slam titles.
