The remnants of Isaias lost tropical characteristics and transitioned into an area of low pressure by Saturday morning on October 10, 2026, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency reported. All hurricane and tropical storm warnings across the state have been discontinued, though severe wind and flood hazards persist.
Wind Advisories and High Wind Warnings Across Alabama
Meteorologist Jim Stefkovich of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency stated that a High Wind Warning remains in effect for northeastern Alabama until 7 p.m. on October 10, 2026. A Wind Advisory covers the northwestern and central sections of the state during the same timeframe. Winds in the advisory area are sustained at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 30 to 45 miles per hour. Northwestern sections could see isolated gusts as high as 50 miles per hour. Meanwhile, the High Wind Warning area experiences sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour, while higher terrain areas face potential gusts up to 60 miles per hour. There is no tornado threat anywhere in the state.
Flood Watch Remains Active for Northern and Central Alabama
A Flood Watch remains active for northern and central sections of Alabama until 7 p.m. on October 10, 2026. The bulk of precipitation has ended south of a Livingston-Montgomery-Auburn line. Regions near and north of Interstate 20 anticipate an additional 0.5 to 2 inches of rainfall before the watch expires. The low pressure center was situated just south of Montgomery at 4 a.m., tracked to pass just north of Birmingham by 1 p.m., and is expected to exit northeastern Alabama between 8 p.m. and midnight.
Warm Temperatures Persist as Statewide Precipitation Ends
Precipitation is forecast to end statewide after 7 p.m. on October 10, 2026. No precipitation is expected anywhere in Alabama from tonight through at least the following Friday. Temperatures throughout the state will remain unseasonably warm as the low-pressure system departs.
