Al Nassr Gears Up for Pre-Season with European Friendlies adn New Signings
Al Nassr’s first football team is set to embark on a rigorous pre-season campaign, featuring a series of kind matches across Austria and Portugal. The training camp, scheduled from July 20 to august 10, will serve as a crucial period for the squad to build chemistry and prepare for the upcoming season.
according to reports from Al-Riyadiah newspaper, Al Nassr’s friendly schedule kicks off against Austrian side Suhan. This will be followed by encounters with French club Toulouse and English outfit Sheffield United. The team will then face Spanish club Almeria in their fourth friendly. The fifth friendly match is still being finalized and is expected to be confirmed during the camp.
In a important boost for the team, new defender Mohamed Simakan has reportedly informed the coaching staff of his full physical and technical readiness upon arriving at the team’s training base in Austria. Simakan has been diligently following an individual training regimen throughout the summer break.
The current camp roster comprises 22 players, including Simakan. Notable names in the squad are Matthew Pinto, Wesley Teixeira, Angelo Gabriel, Mubarak Al-buainain, Raghed Al-Najjar, Majid Al-Qeshish, Awad Aman, Nader Al-Sharari, Sultan Al-Ghannam, Abdulaziz Al-Faraj, Abdulrahman Ghareeb, Abdulmalik Al-Jaber, Marcelo Brozović, Abdulmajeed Al-Sulayhim, Saad Haqawi, Mohammed Maran, Mashary Al-Nimr, Sadio mané, and Sami Al-najei, who is continuing his rehabilitation program during the camp.
The initial phase of the camp will take place in Austria for 14 days, after which the team will relocate to portugal for the second phase, spanning six days.The team is scheduled to return to Riyadh on August 11.
Six international players are expected to join the camp on July 25. these players, including Nawaf Al-Aqidi, Abdulelah Al-Omari, Ayman Yahya, Salem Al-Najdi, Ali Al-Hassan, and Nawaf Boushal, will be reintegrating after receiving an extended rest period following their participation with the Saudi national team in the recent Gulf Cup championship.
