Akron Women’s Golf Set to Compete at Butler Fall Invitational
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Akron zips women’s golf team begins play Monday at the Butler Fall Invitational, hosted by Butler University at the Highland Golf Club. The two-day, 54-hole tournament features a competitive field of 14 teams and provides an early-season test for the Zips as they continue their fall schedule.
the Butler Fall Invitational offers Akron a valuable possibility to assess its performance against a diverse range of programs and gain experience on a challenging course. The tournament’s format includes 36 holes of continuous play beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 29, followed by a final 18-hole round at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Highland Golf Club, a par-70 course spanning 6,040 yards, will host the competition. The field includes Butler, Bellarmine, Belmont, Dayton, Green Bay, Indiana State, Lindenwood, Loyola Chicago, Marian (ind.), Marshall, Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and UIC.
Akron’s scoring lineup consists of Maisarah Hezri, Sohniya Chandra Mohan, Hridhika Vora, Emily Liptak, and Goethe Na Songkhla. Kaitlin Kormuth will compete as an individual. Monday’s shotgun start will see the Zips tee off from holes 4 through 7, with Hezri starting on hole 4, Chandra Mohan on hole 5B, Vora on hole 5A, Liptak on hole 6, Na Songkhla on hole 7B, and Kormuth on hole 7A.
