SAN JOSE, Calif. – San jose State University women’s soccer players Taejah Aitken, Paige Fry, adn Leilani White were recognized today as selections for the 2025 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Watch List, the conference announced Wednesday, may 8, 2024.
The Mountain West Watch List highlights 39 players anticipated to make a meaningful impact during the upcoming 2025 season, as determined by a vote of the conference’s head coaches. San Jose State, under the direction of Head coach Tina Estrada, is preparing for its second season in the Mountain West Conference after transitioning from the Western Athletic Conference in 2023.
Taejah Aitken, Freshman, Midfielder, Quebec, Canada (Vanier College)
- Aitken brings a strong leadership background, having served as captain for two seasons during her high school career.
- Prior to joining the Spartans, she spent one season competing at Vanier College, a CEGEP (college-level institution) in Quebec.
- She represented Quebec in the Quebec-Ontario Series, a competitive interprovincial showcase, achieving a 1-1-1 record in the three-game series.
- Aitken was a key contributor to the ARS Lac St-Louis team that secured a playoff championship in 2024.
- Recognized for her skill, she earned Best XI Center Mid honors at the 2024 Quebec-Ontario Series, awarded by FTF Canada.
Paige Fry, Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Fort Collins, Colorado (Sam Houston State)
- Fry joins the Spartans after completing her freshman season at sam Houston state University in Huntsville, Texas.
- During her time with the Bearkats, she appeared in five games, recording seven saves.
- She made one start for Sam Houston State.
- A four-year letterwinner at Fort Collins High School, Fry excelled in both soccer and basketball.
- Fry received multiple accolades during her high school career, including Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in both 2023 and 2024, and Second Team All-Conference recognition in 2021.
- She was also named the Colorado Rapids player of the Month.
Leilani White, Junior, Defender, Eastvale, California (Mt. San Antonio College)
- white transfers to San Jose State after two seasons at Mt. San Antonio College in walnut, California.
- In 2024, she earned All-SCC North Second Team honors and received the 3C4A (California Community Colleges Athletic Association) Student-Athlete Achievement Award.
- White was a consistent presence on the field, starting 23 games and contributing five assists during the 2024 season.
- In 2023, she started 19 games and recorded one point.
- White is a graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale.
