AirPods Pro 3 Unveiled with Integrated Body Temperature Sensor
Amsterdam, Netherlands - September 10, 2025 – Apple today announced teh next generation of its popular wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro 3, featuring a surprising new health function: a built-in body temperature sensor. The announcement, made via a press release this morning, signals Apple’s continued expansion into the health and wellness market, positioning the AirPods Pro 3 as more then just an audio device.
The addition of a body temperature sensor marks a notable departure for AirPods, traditionally focused on audio quality and noise cancellation. While details remain limited, Apple states the sensor will provide users with core body temperature readings, potentially offering early detection of fever or illness. This feature, combined with existing health tracking capabilities within the Apple ecosystem, aims to provide a more holistic view of user wellbeing. The AirPods Pro 3 are available for pre-order starting September 13, 2025, and will begin shipping September 27, 2025, with a retail price of $249.
Alongside the temperature sensor, the AirPods Pro 3 boast enhanced noise cancellation, improved spatial audio, and a redesigned charging case.Apple claims the new H3 chip delivers up to 6 hours of listening time on a single charge, with the charging case providing an additional 30 hours. The earbuds also feature adaptive EQ, which automatically tunes music to the shape of the user’s ear for a personalized listening experience.
