Aiper IrriSense 2 smart sprinkler reduces water use by 40 per cent

Aiper Irrisense 2 Review Evaluates Hose-Attached Smart Sprinkler on Dry Lawn

In a review published by 7NEWS, a new homeowner evaluated the $999.99 Aiper Irrisense 2 Smart Irrigation System on a dry, brown garden, describing the hose-attached device as a set-and-forget gadget that maps lawns, rotates on command, and measures water use. The reviewer reported that the unit covers lawns up to 445 square metres with a 12-metre spray range, replacing traditional irrigation controllers, standard sprinklers, electric valves, and nutrient feeders while reducing water consumption by 40 per cent compared to a conventional hose.

The Tech TL;DR:

• The Aiper Irrisense 2 is a hose-attached 4-in-1 smart irrigation system retailing at $999.99 that replaces separate controllers, valves, sprinklers, and nutrient feeders.
• It maps gardens automatically through the Aiper mobile app, handling lawns up to 445 square metres with a 12-metre spray range and independent multi-zone scheduling.
• The reviewer noted setup takes about 15 minutes using a garden hose, a power source, and Bluetooth connectivity, though the physical unit is larger than expected.

Aiper App Enables Multi-Zone Scheduling and Garden Mapping

The Aiper Irrisense 2 operates similarly to a robotic vacuum, moving through garden corners and boundaries after users define them via Area mode in the Aiper mobile app, 7NEWS reported. The reviewer highlighted that the system allows independent watering schedules and depth configurations for various parts of the yard, separating lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and vegetable patches. Additional software features include adaptive scheduling, real-time notifications for remote monitoring, and EvenRain technology designed to simulate natural rainfall for even distribution and soil erosion prevention.

Installation Process and Performance Assessment During Testing

Installation requires a standard garden hose, an electrical power source or extension cord, and a Bluetooth connection, with the entire setup process taking approximately 15 minutes according to the review. Placing the unit centrally in both front and back gardens demonstrated its reach and power across mixed terrain. While the manufacturer markets the output as a fine mist, the reviewer observed that the device delivers a thorough watering rather than a misting effect, noting that the physical hardware footprint is larger than anticipated.

Investment Cost and Maintenance Impact on Summer Dryness

Evaluating the financial commitment, the reviewer noted that the $999.99 price tag represents a significant investment for residential garden upkeep. Despite the high upfront cost, the device successfully mitigated dry, brown grass conditions without requiring manual manual labor throughout warmer months. The automated scheduling and targeted zone control kept the garden healthier heading into summer.
