AI-Powered Digital Signage: ISE 2026 Reveals a New Era of Intelligent CMS Platforms

February 18, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

Barcelona, Spain – Artificial intelligence is no longer a futuristic promise for the professional audiovisual (pro AV) industry, but a core component of its current evolution, as demonstrated at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026. Exhibitors showcased AI-driven workflows and tools that move beyond simple automation, transforming digital signage into a data source capable of informing broader organizational decisions.

The shift marks a significant departure from earlier, tentative integrations of AI into digital signage content management systems (CMS), which often felt experimental and lacked practical efficiency gains. According to analysts at Futuresource Consulting, AI and networked infrastructure were the dominant themes at ISE 2026, signaling a fundamental change in how AV systems are designed and deployed.

Intuiface, a platform specializing in interactive signage, debuted an AI-powered content creation tool within its CMS. This “Experience Generator” is designed to produce content compatible with Intuiface’s XML-based architecture, seamlessly integrating with sensors, voice interaction, computer vision and complex orchestration rules. A key feature is “guided prompting,” which assists users in formulating effective prompts for the AI, making the technology accessible to those without specialized expertise. “Users need prompting guidance,” explained a representative from Intuiface, as reported by invidis. “Most struggle to formulate effective prompts. That’s why we developed mechanisms that refine and optimize inputs, turning any inexperienced user into a good prompter.”

Korbyt’s Workspace Experience Platform also showcased multiple AI assistants integrated with other enterprise tools. “Concierge AI” connects with Outlook to enable voice-activated booking of rooms, desks, and workspaces. “Command AI” proactively monitors devices, while “Create AI” and “Curate AI” assist with content creation and delivery, also utilizing guided prompting.

However, Appspace appears to be pushing the boundaries of AI integration furthest. The company introduced an “Assistant Builder” allowing users to create custom AI assistants without programming knowledge. This empowers organizations to convert the 1.5 billion data points Appspace collects annually into actionable insights. Pre-built assistants, such as the “Analytics Assistant,” allow users to ask questions like “Show me the most popular meeting room.” The response goes beyond simple reporting, identifying patterns and suggesting optimization measures, such as increasing bookings for underutilized spaces.

Appspace’s new data visualization engine further personalizes insights, delivering tailored dashboards instead of generic reports. Thomas Philippart de Foy, Chief Innovation Officer of Appspace, stated that the company’s focus is on connecting digital content with physical presence. “Other companies may talk about AI agents for signage. Our assistants can understand which content was played on a screen and who was in the building to spot it. This connection between digital content and physical presence is where real workplace intelligence begins,” he said, according to invidis.

These assistants integrate with other enterprise systems via Model Context Protocols (MCPs), enabling actions like creating tickets in ServiceNow or communicating with building management systems. The initial group of assistants is currently available on Appspace, with the Assistant Builder and Insights Dashboards slated for release in the next quarter.

The developments at ISE 2026 highlight several key takeaways for the future of digital signage: content creation is becoming more sophisticated, MCPs are a critical differentiator, digital signage software is becoming part of a larger AI ecosystem, and AI enables continuous optimization. The industry is moving away from rigid, pre-defined tools towards systems that learn, personalize, and adapt over time.

The event underscored that the AI revolution in digital signage CMS has arrived, focusing on actionable intelligence, seamless workflow integration, and content that dynamically responds to users and their environment.
