Ahmed Sylla brings Origami tour to Toulouse Zénith
The performance continues a busy year for the artist, who divides his time between stand-up stages, television projects, and feature film sets.
From Nantes to National Television Exposure
Born in Nantes on March 10, 1990, to parents originally from Senegal, Sylla discovered theater at the age of 14 while in middle school. That early introduction led him to local stages before television provided a broader platform. In 2011, his participation in the comedy talent program “On n’demande qu’à en rire,” hosted by Laurent Ruquier on France 2, introduced him to a national audience through a succession of recurring characters and sketches.
Following earlier touring shows titled “À mes délires !” and “Avec un grand A,” the comedian developed “Origami” to showcase his physical transformation skills and observational humor. Tickets for the Toulouse appearance at the Zénith, located on avenue Raymond Badiou, are priced between 43 and 63 euros.
Expanding Into Cinema and Directing
Alongside his live performances, Sylla established a film career beginning with his first major starring role in the 2017 feature “L’Ascension.” Subsequent film credits include “Tout simplement noir,” “Un petit frère,” and the television film “Super Papa,” which was released in 2024.
The year 2026 brings an additional behind-the-camera milestone with the comedy “L’Infiltrée,” in which Sylla stars as a police officer forced to disguise himself as a woman to infiltrate a gang, appearing alongside rapper Kaaris. Television audiences also saw him launch a new format on October 12 titled “Les Fous du bus,” broadcast on TV5Monde and Prime Vidéo. In that program, he mentors six emerging comedians through improvisations, challenges, and performances before unexpected audiences.
