Agata Muceniece Lawsuit: Ex-Husband Claims Defamation in Russia

Latvian Actress Agata Muceniece Faces Criminal Case over Public Statements on Ex-Husband

A criminal case has been initiated against Latvian actress Agata Muceniece, who resides in Russia, following a complaint filed by the lawyer of her former husband, actor Pavel Priluchniy. The legal action stems from Muceniece’s public accusations on social media that Priluchniy allegedly isolated their son by employing security guards and changing phone numbers.

Oksana Danilova, Priluchniy’s lawyer, stated that the case was opened in July for the dissemination of “false statements regarding the litigation of the son’s custody.” Danilova refuted claims from Muceniece’s side that the case woudl not proceed, asserting that the prosecutor’s office had officially approved the initiation of criminal proceedings.

Muceniece has openly criticized her ex-husband, recounting an incident were she alleged he “drove us home from home in a pandemic, lifted his hand against me, and the children cried,” adding that public statements were her only recourse. This legal development follows a recent court decision granting Muceniece custody of the couple’s eldest son, Timofey, after proceedings that lasted over a year. Danilova indicated that the legal proceedings would continue, noting that while the penalty might not be severe, a conviction would leave a permanent mark on Muceniece’s biography, serving as accountability for what she described as a “long-term flow of lies.”

in personal news, Muceniece is expecting a child with musician Pyotr Drang. The couple recently held a gender reveal party, attended by Timofey, marking his first visit to his mother’s home in an extended period.
