AEW Finalizes Field for First Clockwork Carnage Match at WrestleDream
The eight-man field for the first-ever Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream is officially set, with reigning AEW World Champion Will Ospreay scheduled to defend his title against seven challengers.
Seven Wrestlers Qualify for Match with Ospreay
Ospreay enters the match alongside Samoa Joe, Mike Bailey, Kazuchika Okada, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Darby Allin, and Ricochet. Samoa Joe and Mike Bailey previously secured their spots earlier in the month, while the final five positions were filled during a special three-hour block of AEW Dynamite and Collision on October 14.
During the qualifying broadcast, Kazuchika Okada defeated Myron Reed, Adam Copeland defeated Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Brian Cage, Darby Allin defeated Hechicero, and Ricochet defeated Ace Austin. The broadcast concluded with an eight-man brawl involving all confirmed participants.
Match Rules
The Clockwork Carnage match combines elements of a Casino Gauntlet and an Iron Man match. Two competitors start the bout, and a new participant enters every three minutes. Any wrestler pinned or submitting during this entry phase faces elimination. Once all eight competitors enter the ring, a 15-minute scoring period begins. Every pinfall or submission counts as one fall, and the wrestler who holds the most falls when time expires wins the AEW World Championship.
