“A Ghost in Battle” – A New Thriller From the Director of “Nobody Will Speak of Us When We’re Dead” Heads to Cinemas & Netflix
San Sebastián, Spain – the latest film from acclaimed Spanish director Agustín Díaz Yanes, A Ghost in Battle, is generating meaningful buzz ahead of its premiere at the San Sebastián Film Festival. Known for his meticulous storytelling and impactful narratives – most notably Nobody will Speak of Us When We’re Dead, a modern classic of Spanish cinema – Díaz Yanes has delivered only four feature films to date, with Oro being his most recent in 2017.
This makes the release of A Ghost in Battle a noteworthy event for national cinema. Díaz Yanes has a proven track record of success with original screenplays, and this new thriller promises to be equally compelling. Notably, two of his previous films were adaptations of novels by Arturo Pérez-Reverte (alatriste, a historical epic with a massive budget, and Oro).
A Ghost in Battle will first arrive in cinemas on October 3rd,followed by a release on Netflix on October 17th. Adding further weight to the project is the involvement of Ja Bayona (The Orphanage, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as a producer. Díaz Yanes and Bayona are currently collaborating on another enterprising project: an adaptation of Manuel Chaves Nogales’ journalistic account of the Spanish Civil War, With Blood and fire.
