President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi delivered what a prominent Egyptian journalist described as “strong and frank” messages to members of the armed forces during an annual Ramadan iftar, or fast-breaking meal, on Sunday. The remarks, delivered at the traditionally significant event, focused on national stability and the enduring partnership between the Egyptian state and its military.

Abdul Fattah Abdul Moneim, editor-in-chief of Youm7 newspaper, attended the iftar and subsequently detailed his impressions in a post shared on his Facebook account. Abdul Moneim emphasized the dignity and solemnity of the gathering, stating it underscored the importance of “a state of institutions.”

According to Abdul Moneim’s account, President el-Sisi directly addressed the Egyptian people with a message of reassurance, stating, “Rest assured about Egypt, God willing… God willing… God willing, no one will be able to approach this country.” The repetition, Abdul Moneim noted, carried particular weight.

The journalist further reported that el-Sisi stressed the two pillars underpinning Egypt’s success: stability and steadfastness. He attributed these achievements first to God, and then to the Egyptian people themselves. The President reportedly urged continued unity between the state and its citizens, stating, “We sense you and we are making every effort to improve the situation and conditions.”

Abdul Moneim described the atmosphere at the iftar as one of “pure national spirit,” characterized by sincere affection for Egypt and profound respect for the sacrifices made by its armed forces. He highlighted the event as a demonstration of the bonds of brotherhood and appreciation between the leadership and the military.

The Youm7 editor-in-chief concluded his account expressing a renewed sense of pride and confidence in Egypt’s national institutions and their ability to navigate the future.

On the same day, President el-Sisi received a phone call from the Prime Minister of India, discussing regional developments and their implications for security and stability, according to Gulf Channels.
