Clalit Rabin Women’s Hospital: Latest Updates & Director Statement

A Caesarean section was performed at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikvah, Israel, on Sunday while an air raid siren was sounding, hospital officials confirmed.

“This image, documenting our first Caesarean section under alarms, tells the story of our hospital during these days,” said Osnat Walfisch, director of the Women’s Hospital at Clalit’s Rabin Medical Center, in a statement. The procedure took place amidst ongoing regional tensions.

Walfisch is a professor and a renowned expert in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy, according to a recent interview featured by Beilinson – Rabin Medical Center on LinkedIn. She heads the Hellen Schneider Women’s Hospital at the medical center.

Rabin Medical Center, also known as Beilinson Hospital, is a major tertiary medical center in Israel. A retrospective cohort study conducted between 1991 and 2014 utilized data from births at the center, according to research published by Walfisch, and colleagues.

The hospital highlighted Walfisch’s work in a LinkedIn post, noting her “impactful contributions” to the field. The post included a link to further information about her research.

The circumstances surrounding the Caesarean section reflect the challenges faced by medical staff in Israel during periods of heightened alert. No further details regarding the mother or child were immediately released by the hospital.
