Quentin Tarantino’s 1996 crime action-horror film, From Dusk Till Dawn, is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime in the UK, sparking renewed interest in the cult classic.

The film, directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel and Salma Hayek, follows the story of two criminal brothers as they attempt to evade authorities by taking a family hostage and fleeing to Mexico. Their journey takes a dark turn when they find themselves trapped in a remote desert saloon harboring a terrifying secret.

From Dusk Till Dawn originated from a story and concept by Robert Kurtzman, with Tarantino penning the screenplay. The film premiered at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on January 17, 1996, and was released nationally by Miramax Films two days later.

Initial critical reception was mixed, with some reviewers citing the film’s graphic violence as a drawback. Yet, From Dusk Till Dawn has since gained a dedicated following and is now considered a cult film, spawning a franchise that includes sequel films and a video game.

Online, fans continue to praise the film’s unique blend of genres and its darkly humorous script. One fan on IMDb described it as “one of the most underrated films of the 90’s,” even as another called it a “stylish, violent and vivacious” masterpiece. Another reviewer from 2000 described the film as a “bloody action extravaganza” and praised the script for its humor.

The film carries an 18 certificate due to its depictions of violence, horror, nudity, and profanity. It has a runtime of 108 minutes and a budget of $19 million, grossing $59.3 million at the box office.

From Dusk Till Dawn was added to Amazon Prime in the UK on February 23, 2026, and is also available to rent or purchase on other streaming platforms.
