Warren County Tennis: Kozakova/Demunck Doubles Match – Live Updates

The Western Kentucky Lady Toppers women’s tennis team suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat against Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) on Friday at the Warren County Tennis Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The loss brings WKU’s overall record to 6-6, and their home record to 4-3.

Isabelle Einess secured a singles victory for the Lady Toppers at the No. 1 position, defeating Juliette Demunck in a three-set match, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (7-0). Virginia Madueño continued her strong performance, winning her ninth consecutive singles match and improving to a 10-1 overall record this season with a three-set victory at the No. 4 position over Kristina Kozakova, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Barbara Olvera also contributed a singles win for WKU, prevailing at the No. 5 position against Mia Mayerova, 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4.

SEMO claimed the remaining singles matches. Sofia Zemtsova defeated Andra Sirbu at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4. Maja Bajorek overcame Emily Schut at No. 2, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-8). Yontha Tadoum secured the decisive point for the Redhawks with a win over Ariadna Fernandez at No. 6, 7-5, 6-4.

In doubles play, SEMO gained an early advantage. Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova defeated Barbara Olvera and Virginia Madueño 6-1 at the No. 2 position. Sofia Zemtsova and Yontha Tadoum then secured the doubles point for the Redhawks with a 7-5 victory over Isabelle Einess and Ariadna Fernandez at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles match between Emily Schut/Andra Sirbu (WKU) and Kristina Kozakova/Juliette Demunck (SEMO) remained unfinished, with the score at 5-4 in favor of WKU.

The all-time series between WKU and SEMO now stands at 5-3 in favor of the Lady Toppers, despite recent wins by SEMO in the 2026 match and back-to-back meetings in Bowling Green during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. SEMO’s Kozakova and Demunck were recently named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Doubles Team of the Week on February 17, following a sweep at Belmont.

WKU’s next match has not been announced.
