TAG Heuer is launching a special edition of its Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch specifically designed for Formula 1 fans, set to arrive in March 2026. The watch, priced at $3,850 AUD, moves away from the brand’s traditional mechanical chronographs to offer a deeply integrated digital experience centered around the F1 season.
The core of the new watch is a dedicated Formula 1 app, providing real-time Grand Prix schedules, post-race results, and live driver and team standings directly from official race data. A key feature is the “Race Track” watch face, which dynamically updates each race weekend to display the country flag, race name, and a silhouette of the circuit. A moving dot traces the track outline, offering a visual representation of time passing.
TAG Heuer has incorporated design elements reflecting the motorsport world. The 45mm case is constructed from black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium, featuring a black polished ceramic bezel engraved with phases of a Grand Prix weekend. Pushers are accented with red lacquer, and the caseback includes the F1 logo alongside a heart rate sensor. The watch will ship with two interchangeable straps: a black leather strap with a carbon pattern and red stitching, and a stretch textile strap designed for fitness tracking.
Under the hood, the watch runs on the Calibre E5 platform with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 5100+ chipset and TAG Heuer OS. It offers comprehensive health and fitness tracking, including heart rate, SpO2, breathing rate, and sleep monitoring, alongside standard accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and barometer functions. Dual-band GPS support (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and Galileo) is included for accurate tracking during workouts.
Battery life is rated for two days with typical leverage, extending to three days in low-power mode. Swift charging provides a full day’s power from a 30-minute charge. The packaging for the watch is likewise motorsport-themed, featuring soft-touch black surfaces and a checkered flag design.
This launch follows TAG Heuer’s return as the Official Timekeeper of Formula 1, a role it previously held from 1992 to 2003. The company also launched its first luxury connected watch in 2015. Earlier this year, TAG Heuer announced a partnership with the F1 Academy, signing British driver Megan Bruce for the 2026 season. Bruce will race for Campos Racing with TAG Heuer sponsorship, according to reports from Motorsport.com and Formula 1.
Early access to the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45mm x Formula 1 will be available for 48 hours on the TAG Heuer website starting March 3, 2026.
