Argentine tennis player Leonardo Aboian has been suspended from competition for six years and nine months and fined $40,000 for violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP), the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced Friday.

The 27-year-old Aboian admitted to 30 offenses, including the manipulation of eight matches – both singles and doubles – contested between 2018 and 2025, according to the ITIA. He has been prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending any tennis event sanctioned by the ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon, and the USTA, or any national association.

Aboian, who reached a career-high singles ranking of 229 in April 2025, was provisionally suspended on September 19, 2025, pending investigation. The current sanction extends his exclusion from the sport until June 18, 2032.

The ITIA stated that Aboian confessed to facilitating betting, manipulating event outcomes, receiving payments for not giving his best effort, and failing to report corrupt approaches. He waived his right to an independent hearing in accepting the charges.

Currently ranked 997th in the world in singles, Aboian previously achieved a ranking of 453rd in September 2022 and 229nd in doubles in April 2025. He also reached 196th in the ITF singles rankings. His last official appearance was at the Challenger Villa María tournament in mid-September 2025, where he lost in the first round of the doubles competition and was eliminated in the qualifying round of the singles event by Facundo Bagnis.

Aboian will pay a fine of $15,000, with the remaining $25,000 of the $40,000 penalty suspended, contingent upon his compliance with the terms of the sanction. Throughout his career, Aboian earned $93,000 in prize money, according to ATP records.
