Overwatch Rush Beta Download: How to Play on Android (Philippines & Global)

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

The first regional test for Blizzard Entertainment’s mobile hero shooter, Overwatch Rush, has begun, but is currently limited to Android users in the Philippines, as of February 26, 2026.

The new game, designed specifically for mobile devices, represents a significant departure from the core Overwatch experience. Unlike Overwatch 2, Overwatch Rush has been developed from scratch for mobile platforms, featuring a top-down perspective and 4v4 gameplay focused on control-style objectives, according to Blizzard.

Filipino players can download Overwatch Rush directly from the Google Play Store by searching for “Overwatch Rush.” The initial download is approximately 1.4GB. For players outside the Philippines, access requires creating or logging into a Philippine Google account and utilizing a VPN connected to a Philippines server. Clearing the Google Play Store cache—via Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache—may be necessary to load the Philippine store. Once downloaded, a VPN is not required to play.

Blizzard has released minimum system requirements for the game: Android platform, 3GB of RAM and a chipset equivalent to or exceeding a Snapdragon 480, Exynos 980, or Dimensity 700.

This initial test phase is intended to gather player feedback and assess server stability before expanding to other regions. Blizzard has confirmed that further regional tests are planned, though no specific dates or locations have been announced. According to a post on the official Overwatch Rush Discord server, the development team is “working hard to bring Overwatch Rush testing to more regions.”

Early gameplay footage reveals heroes such as Reinhardt, Tracer, Soldier: 76, and Mercy, with Reinhardt appearing to utilize the Magma Strike power originally featured in the Overwatch Stadium game mode. The test build is described as an early phase of development, with significant changes expected before the final release.
