The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests has announced the launch of the 10th edition of the National Grand Prix of Agricultural and Rural Press. The competition aims to strengthen specialized journalism serving the agricultural sectors and rural communities of Morocco.

Established to support the growth of the Moroccan agricultural sector, the Grand Prix has become an annual event recognizing journalistic work that highlights key strategic issues facing the nation’s agriculture. These include the modernization of farms, sustainable resource management, export initiatives, agritech innovation, and rural territory development.

Participation in the Grand Prix has expanded to encompass all media platforms, reflecting a growing interest in structured and professional agricultural reporting. Organizers state this year’s edition will emphasize rigorous, well-documented, and accessible coverage of agricultural policies, sector performance, and climate challenges.

The competition is open to print, online, and broadcast media. Awards will be presented in four categories: print journalism, online reporting through video reports, television, and radio. Each category will award a Grand Prix and a Second Prize. A “Coup de Cœur” prize will likewise be awarded by the jury for a particularly noteworthy submission.

Submissions must have been published or broadcast between March 25, 2025, and March 25, 2026. The deadline for submissions is 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

The announcement of the 10th Grand Prix coincides with broader discussions regarding food security in the region. Recent reports highlight the importance of sustainable agriculture as a key component of ensuring food security in Algeria, a neighboring North African nation.

The initiative also occurs as territories across the region adapt to the impacts of climate change, a challenge directly addressed in the Grand Prix’s focus on sustainable resource management and climate challenges.
