Two Tunisian men, aged 20 and 21, were reported to authorities in Como on Thursday following a police search that uncovered cocaine and cash, according to statements released by the Polizia di Stato.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening, February 25th, 2026, on Via Scalabrini in Como. Officers conducting a routine patrol stopped the vehicle, noting the occupants appeared visibly anxious, prompting a more thorough inspection, police reports indicate.

During the search, officers discovered five doses of cocaine, concealed within a pocket of the rear passenger-side door. The drugs were packaged for sale, with a total gross weight of 5.5 grams. Authorities also found 370 euros in cash on the 20-year-old resident of Merone, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking, according to the Polizia di Stato.

The 20-year-old is a Tunisian national with a valid residency permit and no prior criminal record. The 21-year-old, also a Tunisian citizen, is residing in Italy illegally, has a previous record with law enforcement, and has no fixed address.

Both individuals were taken into custody at the Como police headquarters and formally charged with possession and intent to distribute narcotics. They were released pending further investigation, as confirmed by reports from La Provincia di Como and CiaoComo.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released further details regarding potential connections to larger drug networks or the origin of the cocaine.
