The University of Idaho women’s golf team finished third at the Grand Canyon Invitational, concluding play on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, at the GCU Championship Course in Phoenix, Arizona. The Vandals posted a three-round total of 896, 32-over par.

Grand Canyon University hosted the tournament, with the Lopes’ individual golfer, Vakasiuola, recently achieving notable success, including tying a program single-round record low and sweeping Mountain West weekly honors. GCU’s women’s golf team competes in the Mountain West Conference, coached by Brent Nicoson.

According to results posted on Clippd, Grand Canyon University’s women’s golf team has a national rank of #79 as of February 26, 2026, with a scoring average of 295.2 across 34 total rounds. Their season record stands at 100-55-1.

The Cowgirl Classic, held April 2-3, 2025, saw the Grand Canyon team finish with a score of +28, while the Ping ASU Invitational, March 28-30, 2025, resulted in a +19. At the Red Rocks Invitational, March 14-16, 2025, the team finished at even par. The Grand Canyon Invitational, February 25-26, 2025, saw a score of -7.

The 2025 WAC Women’s Golf Championship, held April 14-16, 2025, resulted in a +34 for the Grand Canyon team. The team too participated in the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic (Feb 15-17, 2025) and the 2024 Rainbow Wahine Invitational (Oct 21-23, 2024).
