LEOBEN, Austria – K.S.F. Gym Leoben athletes achieved success across multiple combat sports disciplines this weekend, securing gold medals in both Muaythai and boxing competitions. While a team representing the gym excelled at the International Muaythai Spartan Cup in Budapest, Danil Myroshnychenko secured a victory in a boxing match held in Vienna on February 21st.
In Budapest, over 270 athletes from six nations competed at the International Muaythai Spartan Cup. The K.S.F. Gym sent seven fighters, supported by a coaching staff led by Günter Plank, and returned with a significant medal haul. Ivor Mijatovic (U12, -44kg), Ivan Mijatovic (U12, -42kg), and Julian Kraker (U16, -71kg) each won gold medals. Nico Vidovic (U14, -42kg) and Elisabeth Hauzinger (general class, -71kg) earned silver medals, while Noe Erdmann (general class, -71kg) and David Rattenegger (general class, -91kg) took home bronze.
Simultaneously, in Vienna, Danil Myroshnychenko (U19, -65kg) faced Mohammad Hosseinpour of Gym 23 at an event hosted by the Jabclub Vienna, a traditional boxing club. According to reports, Myroshnychenko overcame a difficult first round with tactical adjustments guided by boxing coach Michael Hiebler, ultimately securing a win.
Günter Plank, chairman of K.S.F. Gym, expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating that the athletes “presented themselves solidly on the international stage.” He highlighted the importance of the Budapest tournament for the team’s development. Rebecca Hödl and Florian Planitzer also contributed to the weekend’s success by serving as judges, ensuring fair competition.
The K.S.F. Gym Leoben is scheduled to host the state championships in Muaythai on April 25th at the Donawitz sports hall in Leoben.
