Samsung has set February 25, 2026, as the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, where the company will unveil its new Galaxy S26 series – the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET and will be livestreamed on Samsung’s website and YouTube channel, according to a press release issued by the company.
Samsung is emphasizing artificial intelligence and security features with the Galaxy S26 line. The company states that Galaxy AI will be designed to simplify daily routines and offer a more personalized and adaptive user experience. Users can register on the Samsung website for updates and access to exclusive benefits prior to the event, though details of those benefits remain undisclosed.
Rumors circulating for months suggest significant hardware upgrades are planned. The standard S26 model is expected to feature the Exynos 2600 chip, offering increased performance compared to its predecessor, paired with 12GB of RAM – consistent with the Galaxy S25. The S26 is also anticipated to see an increase in battery capacity from 4,000 mAh to 4,300 mAh, and a slight increase in display size from 6.2 to 6.3 inches. All three models are expected to support wireless charging via the Qi2 standard.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is projected to receive further enhancements, including a potential configuration with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Some reports indicate the Ultra model may utilize a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor instead of the Exynos 2600. A new “Privacy Display” feature is also rumored for the S26 Ultra, designed to protect screen content from unwanted views through software-based privacy controls. The Ultra is also expected to offer up to 60W quick charging via a wired connection.
Samsung’s announcement follows a roughly two-week lead time, consistent with the company’s typical unveiling schedule. The event, delayed compared to previous years’ January launches, is expected to set the tone for smartphone releases throughout 2026. The company is also offering pre-order incentives, including a $30 Samsung Credit and the chance to win a $5,000 gift card, as well as potential trade-in savings of up to $900 or a $150 credit without a trade-in. Reservations are also being accepted at AT&T and Best Buy.
