Team Bike is expanding its portfolio to include UTO, a French manufacturer of electric folding bicycles, as of February 24, 2026. The move signals a strategic shift within the cycling retail market, recognizing urban mobility as a key growth area.
According to a statement released by Tradebike, Team Bike views UTO as aligning with its existing criteria for premium cycling products: a defined product, clear positioning, and robust support for points of sale. This approach prioritizes durability, service, and specialization in urban environments, mirroring standards typically found in the sports cycling sector.
UTO currently offers models including the OG20 and PRO20. Team Bike’s strategy centers on brands with established identities and proven quality, particularly those offering commercial potential for specialized retailers. The company emphasizes that its investment in UTO is not a response to a fleeting trend, but a continuation of its commitment to urban mobility solutions.
The integration of UTO into Team Bike’s distribution network comes as the urban mobility segment gains prominence within the cycling industry. Team Bike will handle distribution and, crucially, provide after-sales service and spare parts, aiming to create a more stable commercial operation. This mirrors a model already successful in the sports cycling market, where reliable components and long-term maintenance are prioritized.
The partnership likewise addresses a recent recall affecting UTO bicycles (formerly known as Eovolt). According to a document published by Team Bike, the company is responsible for collecting affected bicycles from distributors, facilitating frame replacements at UTO’s factory, and returning the repaired bikes to the distribution network.
This development occurs alongside growth in the broader e-bike market. Spanish e-bike manufacturer UrbanBiker reported a 33 percent growth in 2025, attributing its success to product control, close relationships with specialist retailers, and a focus on durability and service. UrbanBiker, like UTO, emphasizes a user-centric approach and direct communication with dealers.
Pirelli has also recently unveiled its Scorpion XC range, designed for competition and recreational cyclists seeking efficiency and control on varied terrain, demonstrating continued innovation within the cycling industry as a whole.
