Slovak actor and voice actor Rastislav Sokol, 57, is currently lending his voice to a character in a Turkish television series, while also co-hosting the revived Slovak demonstrate Dobre vedieť! (Good to Know!). Sokol described the series as a “properly tangled” melodrama, involving a character discovering a son he didn’t know existed at the age of nearly 25, in an interview with Najmama.sk.
The show Dobre vedieť! returned to Television JOJ with a new team of captains, alongside Zuzana Šebová and Juraj Loj. Sokol expressed his gratitude to the network for bringing the show back after repeated requests from the public. He noted the dynamic created by Šebová, the first female captain in the show’s history, and Loj, describing their interactions as sparking “a beautiful moment of male-female micro-duel.”
Sokol shared that he enjoys knowledge-based competitions both professionally and personally, appreciating the opportunity to learn unexpected information. He highlighted the extensive research undertaken by the show’s production team to find intriguing and lesser-known facts, and the challenge of avoiding revealing answers during filming.
Beyond his work, Sokol is also a father to a four-year-old son, Kubko, born during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also has two older children, Maťo, 35, and Lucka, 30, from a previous marriage. Sokol reflected that he is able to dedicate more time and attention to his youngest son than he perhaps did with his older children earlier in his career. He described a morning ritual with Kubko, involving coffee, milk, and watching YouTube or simply talking.
Sokol described Kubko as a “big mommy’s boy,” but also enjoys “boyish chats” with his father, often revolving around cars and engines. His daughter, Lucka, recently married, having met her husband through her therapist. Sokol indicated that he and his partner, Erika, have not felt a strong need to marry, despite their long-term relationship, and that his older son also has no interest in marriage.
Erika has a son, Marko, who is currently going through adolescence. Sokol noted that while Marko and Kubko occasionally play soccer, they largely pursue their own interests. He emphasized the importance of family health and happiness above all else.
