An explosion rocked a villa in Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm, early Sunday morning, prompting a response from police and emergency services. The incident occurred on Älgö, according to authorities.

Police were alerted to the scene at approximately 05:10 local time, following reports of loud bangs. “We are on site and there has been some kind of blast at a house,” stated Göran Norman of the rescue services, as reported by DN Direkt.

Initial investigations confirm that the explosion caused minor material damage to the villa’s entrance door. “The door has sustained some burning and a window has been shattered,” said Daniel Wikdahl, a spokesperson for the police, according to both DN Direkt and Expressen. No injuries have been reported.

The area surrounding the villa has been cordoned off while police conduct a preliminary investigation into a case of general endangerment. “We have some ideas about what the object might be, but we are not going to disclose that at this time,” Wikdahl added.

According to Expressen, the homeowner was among those who reported the incident to authorities, calling emergency services at 05:16. Police have not yet confirmed whether the homeowner was inside the property at the time of the explosion or discovered it through other means.

A separate incident, a suspected explosion damaging several cars in Sollentuna, is also under investigation by police, as reported by Expressen. That incident is being investigated as gross general endangerment and a violation of laws concerning flammable and explosive materials.
