Portuguese startup i-Charging has been recognized as the fastest-growing technology company in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region by Deloitte, according to recent reports.
Founded in March 2019, i-Charging began manufacturing electric vehicle (EV) chargers in 2021. Despite its relatively recent entry into the market, the company has already received multiple awards for innovation and entrepreneurship. The Deloitte EMEA Technology Fast 500 ranking places i-Charging third highlighting its rapid expansion.
In Portugal, i-Charging is known for its EV charging stations, typically painted blue and black, which feature innovations such as large touchscreen displays and systems to assist with the movement of heavy charging cables. The company’s CEO, Pedro Moreira Silva, has been discussing the present and future of rapid charging infrastructure.
The company is also preparing to launch ultra-fast charging stations that will offer rates as low as one cent per kWh, a development reported as a first-of-its-kind announcement.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list also included 20 Irish companies, demonstrating broader growth in the EMEA technology sector. Portuguese startups are experiencing significant growth across the region, as highlighted by recent industry reports.
