Malmö, Sweden / Vienna, Austria – February 20, 2026 – THQ Nordic and Tarsier Studios today released an Accolades Trailer for their co-op horror adventure, REANIMAL, celebrating the game’s critical reception following its launch on February 13th. The trailer highlights positive reviews received since the game became available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
REANIMAL, developed by Tarsier Studios – the creators of the Little Nightmares franchise – and published by THQ Nordic, tasks players with navigating a terrifying world as a brother and sister duo searching for their missing friends. The game features both local and online co-op multiplayer, as well as a single-player mode with AI assistance. The developers designed the game with a shared, directed camera intended to heighten claustrophobia and tension, according to promotional materials.
To broaden accessibility, THQ Nordic is offering multiple ways for players to experience REANIMAL with friends. Steam users can download a standalone “Friend’s Pass” application, while PlayStation 5 owners can access a free trial version allowing co-op play with a friend who owns the full game. Nintendo Switch 2 utilizes the console’s GameShare feature for shared gameplay, and Xbox Series X/S too offers a dedicated “Friend’s Pass” application.
The REANIMAL Deluxe Edition includes additional masks for the game’s protagonists, Boy and Girl, and a Season Pass granting access to “The Expanded World” – a planned series of three chapters introducing new characters, monsters, environments, and storylines.
The game went gold on December 16, 2025, according to a press release from THQ Nordic, signaling the completion of development and the start of physical manufacturing for retail copies. The announcement followed the successful release of the game’s demo on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox platforms, allowing players to explore the Mill and Trainyard environments and uncover initial fragments of the game’s narrative.
IGN is currently offering official REANIMAL merchandise through its online store.
